Sigurdsson was recently arrested for his part in an Alleged Child Sex Offense case. The following incident took place on the 16th of July, 2021. Everton released a statement to that effect saying that, It was later revealed that the player in question was in fact Sigurdsson. Upon arrest, he was immediately released on bail and has since disappeared from the public eye. While no one has officially said anything about the incident, Gylfi Sigurdsson was left out of Everton’s 2021-22 Squad. Recent reports have surfaced saying that Sigurdsson has received a 3-month extension on his previous bail. Even his wife has disappeared from Social Media altogether. Many Icelandic publications have become convinced that it is indeed Sigurdsson who was charged. This was further confirmed by the fact that the police report mentioned the player is 31 years old. The only other 31-year-old in the team is Fabian Delph who has been playing for Everton. There are new reports now that say that Everton has been looking to cancel Sigurdsson’s contract.
