Pokemon GO: How to Turn Off or Disable AR Mode

Even though not intended, reality sometimes hinders AR while capturing a Pokemon, as you have to keep watch of your surroundings, and a change in the background will result in a change in the depth ratio, which will make catching them even more troublesome. So there are three ways through which you can turn off, disable or stop your Pokemon GO app from using your Augmented Reality with a camera.

Turn Off Permanently From App Setting

Open your Pokemon GO app and tap on the Pokeball, which is the Main Menu. Now you will see a few icons, select the gear-like icon, which is Settings. Scroll down a little, and you will see the Niantic AR (AR+) option, now uncheck the box beside it to turn off the AR feature. You can switch it on again anytime by following the same steps and checking the box.

Turn It Off During the Capture

When you open your capture screen you will see the AR option in the upper right corner. Turn off that toggle to disable AR for that capture. It is a temporary solution you have to use during every capture.

Stop App From Using the Camera

Open your phone and go to the settings. Search for the Pokemon GO app, and check the permissions. Turn off the camera permission, so the app will not be able to use your camera or activate AR with it.

These are all the methods you can use to disable or turn off AR in the Pokemon GO app. Looking for more such gaming guides, check out how to delete Pokemon and Solgaleo vs Lunala.
